As the river cascades into darkness,
Canyons long abandoned begin to crumble,
Dust scatters towards oblivion,
And the earth decays,

The last remnants of life
Drift away in the breeze.

As the sky collapses,
Stars once forgotten shine again,
Swathing the broken landscape in light,
And new life emerges,

The last remnants of darkness
Shy away from the light.

As the cities disappear,
Buildings fade into nothing,
Endless roads are covered by new life,
And the earth is renewed,

The last remnants of humanity
Are gone from this world,

And through my window, I see it all slip away.
