Psychology club, led by senior co-presidents Kieran O’Leary and Mariah Denlinger, did its best to take the edge off of exam week by bringing therapy dogs to campus twice this spring. These furry friends provided joy and much-needed study breaks to many dog-loving students (and a few catlovers, too).
For the psychology majors, psychology club hosted several events to help students figure out what they want to do with their lives after college. Psychology club invited professors and alumni to talk about graduate school and a variety of psychology-related careers. Current seniors also presented posters about their internships for the junior psychology class.
More recently, the club helped with the annual Walk For Hope—a collaborative event with the other local colleges (James Madison University, Bridgewater College, and Blue Ridge Community College) to walk for suicide awareness and prevention.
In addition to all of these events, the psychology club threw a party for two retiring psychology professors Kim Brenneman and Judy Mullet, and ordered EMU Psychology sweatshirts for anyone in the psychology department or club who wanted to buy one.
Although the beautiful, soft garb is too warm to wear this time of year, we are all looking forward to accidentally matching with each other next fall.
