Sitara’s Review:
Before last Friday, I had been to Buffalo Wild Wings once in my life, when I was probably about eight and my mum had a coupon for it. I remember a few things: dark seating, a lot of noise, televisions everywhere, and not loving the menu options.
Luckily, this trip was different. I ordered chicken tenders, which came with a side of fries. Simple, I know, but so is my culinary palate; after my last experience, I wanted to play it safe.
I usually find fries very hit-or-miss, but these were some of the best fries I have ever had. They had a good amount of salt—something that many restaurants tend to skimp on. These fries also had flecks of pepper, which gave them enough flavor to keep one from getting bored with them, but not so much that it was overwhelming. If you enjoy fries and salty snacks, Buffalo Wild Wings fries are for you.
The chicken tenders were also pleasantly salty, though note that you should drink enough water with this meal to stay properly hydrated. The meat was well cooked—not too dry, but not too juicy, either. As a warning, the breading on the chicken tenders did separate a little from the meat, which may bother some people. Personally, I did not find it a problem.
Overall, the Buffalo Wild Wings chicken tenders and fries are a good option for anyone who enjoys a savory meal and is okay with eating meat.
Allie’s Review:
Throughout my life, I have never really stopped and said, “Let’s go to Buffalo Wild Wings!” However, that changed recently when I was scrolling through my DoorDash app at 10 PM like the hungry hungry hippo I am and saw an option titled “Bird Dawgs”. Intrigued, I clicked. Behold— in front of my blue-lit eyes I saw bun-caged chicken tenders in varying shapes, sizes, and flavors. I knew right there and then that I would get my greasy hands on those damn bird dawgs, and that I had to bring someone along for this quest!
Alas, there we were three days later, chicken tender and bird dawg in front of us. I ordered the loaded bird dawg, which had bacon, sour cream, green onions, and some variation of spicy sauce drizzle on top. I was pleasantly surprised by these bird dawgs even before consumption; their appearance actually surpassed the pictures seen on DoorDash. And, it came with cheese curds!
Initially, the taste was not what I expected. The tender had more of a kick due to the spicy sauce, which I enjoyed but someone more sensitive to spice may not enjoy. There was also more flavor than I expected; when I saw the name “Bird Dawgs”, I knew I’d eventually order it as a joke. I didn’t expect it to be anything special beyond a dry chicken tender in a plain hot dog bun. However, the combination of toppings, tender (meat?), and tangy buffalo sauce made the Bird Dawg an enjoyable experience that any hot wing lover would surely enjoy.
