Baseball

The baseball team opened up their season this past week in North Carolina, going 1-2 in a three-game series with N.C. Wesleyan. In the win, sophomore pitcher John Judy pitched 4.2 innings, allowing no runs on one hit while striking out three. First-year outfielder Jaylon Lee led the offense with a double and two RBIs. The team will gear up for a big home opener this weekend as they are scheduled to play a doubleheader against Juniata College on Saturday and another doubleheader against Penn St.- Altoona on Sunday.

Men’s Basketball

The men’s basketball team lost a tough game this past weekend, losing to Randolph College 79-71 in overtime. Senior Isaiah Harris-Winn led the Runnin’ Royals with 20 points and six rebounds, while junior Travis Clower added 12 points of his own. With the loss, the Runnin’ Royals are now 9-13 on the season and 4-10 in the ODAC. The team will play their final game of the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 17 against Emory & Henry (18-5, 10-4 ODAC), and it will also be senior recognition day.

Women’s Basketball

The women’s basketball team could not put it all together as they fell to Virginia Wesleyan College this past weekend 67-59. Senior Myneshia Walker led the team with 19 points, while Senior Brianna Zook had 15 points. With the loss, the Lady Royals are now 12-10 on the season and 7-7 in the ODAC. The team will play their final game of the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 17 against Hollins University (3-20, 0-14 ODAC), and it will also be senior recognition day.

Men’s Volleyball

The men’s volleyball team continued their winning ways this past weekend, winning all five of their matches. The team went 15-1 in their sets. In their latest win against Arcadia, senior Tim Callahan led the team with 13 kills while junior Christian Taylor led the team with 35 assists. With the wins, the team is 11-3 on the season and 4-1 in the CVC. The team’s next match will be Friday, Feb. 16 against Juniata (6-7).
