Baseball

The baseball team finished up the week full of games as the team now sits at 6-4 on the season. Junior Zach Roberts had a good week at the plate as his accomplishments earned him ODAC Player of the Week. Roberts led the team with 12 hits, five doubles, seven runs batted in and nine runs scored. The team heads to Myrtle Beach, S.C. for spring break as they will play four games on the trip.

Men’s Basketball

The men’s basketball team wrapped up their season this past weekend with a heartbreaking 78-76 loss to Emory & Henry in the ODAC semifinals, but not before they were able to knock off the number one seed Randolph Macon 56-54 in the quarterfinal round. Senior Isaiah Harris-Winn led the team with 14.4 points per game and 8.2 rebounds per game in his last season as a Royal. The team finished the season with a 12-15 record and a 5-11 ODAC record in coach Kirby Dean’s last season.

Women’s Basketball

The women’s basketball team ended their season sooner than they hoped as they were knocked out of the first round of the ODAC tournament with a 76-68 loss to Shenandoah. Senior Myneshia Walker led the team with 11.4 points per game during the season while junior Jess Washington led the team with 8.0 rebounds per game during the season. The team ended the season with a 13-12 overall record and a 8-8 record in ODAC play.

Men’s Volleyball

The men’s volleyball team continued their winning ways over the weekend, sweeping both Ramapo and Stevenson by a score of 3-0. Senior William Ragland led the team over the weekend with 27 total kills in the two games. With the wins, the Royals improve to 14-5 and 6-2 in the CVC. The team’s next game will be Friday, March 2 at Lancaster Bible (9-3).

Softball

The softball team got their season started by going 1-2 at the Grand Slam Triangle Classic in Raleigh, N.C. First-year Danielle Brenneman had a great weekend, hitting .667 with a home run and four runs batted in. The team will also be traveling to Myrtle Beach, S.C. during spring break as they will compete in the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic.
