Men’s Soccer

The men’s soccer team put up yet another offensive outburst this past weekend as the Royals defeated ODAC opponent Guilford 6-2. Caleb Oakes led the way with two goals. With the win, the team improves to 8-4 on the season and 2-3 in the conference. The team’s next game will be Saturday, Oct. 14 against Randolph-Macon College (11-1, 4-1 ODAC) for the homecoming game.

Women’s Soccer

The women’s soccer team had the weekend off this week as they prepare for the homecoming game against Emory & Henry (4-7-1, 3-1-1 ODAC) on Saturday, Oct. 14. On the season the team is 3-7-2 and 1-4 in the ODAC. first-year Olivia Dalke leads the team with three goals.

Field Hockey

The field hockey team took a tough loss over the weekend as they fell to ODAC opponent Virginia Wesleyan 2-0. With this loss the team fell to 3-8 on the season and 0-5 in the ODAC. The team’s next match will be home on Saturday, Oct. 14 against Roanoke College (10-1, 3-0 ODAC) for the homecoming weekend game.

Women’s Volleyball

The women’s volleyball team came out with a winning record at the LBC Tri-Match over the weekend, beating Wilson College 3-0, losing to Lancaster-Bible 3-1 and defeating St. Mary’s (Md.) 3-1. The team improved their record to 7-13 on the season, which includes a 2-5 record in the ODAC. The team’s next game will be today against Ferrum College (3-15).

Cross Country

The cross country teams ran well at the CNU Invitational, with the women coming in first as a team. Senior Michaela Mast was first of the runners with a time of 23:46 with junior Elizabeth Nisly coming in second with a time of 24:15. First-year Justice Allen had the best time among the men with 29:00. With the regular season wrapped up, the teams will travel to Virginia Beach on Saturday, Oct. 28 for the ODAC Championships.
