Men’s Soccer
The men’s soccer team did not quite get the outcome they would have liked during their homecoming game as they lost to Randolph-Macon 2-1 in overtime. The team scored first on a goal by sophomore mid-field Daniel Obour, but Randolph-Macon played solid defense the rest of the way.
Fortunately, the team picked up a key ODAC victory against Bridgewater College last night. They won 4-3 in double overtime. The team is now 9-5 on the season and 3-4 in the ODAC. They will take on Roanoke College (11-4-1, 6-1 ODAC) for Senior Recognition Night on Saturday, Oct. 21.
Women’s Soccer
The women’s soccer team took a loss on their Senior Recognition Night as they fell to Emory & Henry 2-0. The team was able to come back from their loss to defeat Hollins University 7-0 Tuesday night. The team is 5-7-2 on the season and 3-4 in the ODAC. The team’s next game will be Oct. 21 at Randolph College (3-9-2, 1-6-1 ODAC).
Field Hockey
The field hockey team also took a loss on Senior Recognition Day as they fell to Roanoke College 5-2. Sophomore Alyssa Gore and senior Emily Augsburger scored the two goals in the loss. They also suffered a 3-0 conference loss to Shenandoah University last night. The team falls to 3-10 on the season and 0-7 in the ODAC. The team’s next game is Oct. 20 against Concordia University Wisconsin (4-6).
Women’s Volleyball
The women’s volleyball team was the only team that came out with a victory during homecoming weekend when they defeated Ferrum 3-1.
Junior middle back Maria Yoder led the team in kills with 15 and senior setter Jasmine Johnson led the team with 33 assists. The volleyball team’s next match will be Friday, Oct. 20 against Lynchburg College (14-5, 5-3 ODAC) for the Dig Pink Match.
