Baseball
The team played three games this week. Their first games both ended in 12-8 victories. Against Ferrum College, seniors Griffin Stanley, Kyle Salladay, and David Meehan led the team in runs with two each. Against Southern Virginia University, Senior Dean Lowery led the team in RBIs with three.
Last night’s game, a rescheduled game from April 2, also ended in a victory. The Royals defeated Hood College 14-6. Their next games will be against Randolph-Macon College on Saturday, April 15 at noon and 3 p.m.
Softball
The team had two games this week, both part of a double-header against Virginia Wesleyan College, resulting in 0-10 and 4-8 losses respectively. The second game went into extra innings.
In the first game, Sophomore Sydney Reath and First-year Rebecca Hoskins landed the team’s only hits in the game.
In the second game, Reath led the team in RBIs with three and recorded a homerun. The team’s next games will be today at home against McDaniel College at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Men’s Golf
The team competed at the Glenn Heath Shipbuilder’s Invitational in Williamsburg, finishing 13th overall.
Leading the team was Senior Josh Alderfer, finishing tied for 30th place with a score of 158, or 14 over par. Junior Lucas Miller came in second for the team, tying for 53rd place with a score of 164, or 20 over par.
Their next competition will be the ODAC Championships, held at the Stony Creek Golf Course in Wintergreen on Sunday, April 23.
Women’s Golf
First-year Olyvia Longacre finished the Hollins Spring Invitational tied for seventh place, shooting 10 over par over the course of two rounds.
Longacre performed equally well in both rounds, scoring an 83 each time on the par 78 course. Longacre’s next competition will be the ODAC Championships, held at the Stony Creek Golf Course in Wintergreen on Sunday, April 23.
Volleyball
The team had two games this past week. Their first was against Penn State Altoona resulting in a 3-1 victory.
Sophomore Travis Abele led the team in kills with 13. Junior Micah Buller led the team in digs with 12.
Their second game was against Stevenson College, ending in a 0-3 loss. First-year Josh Elmore led the team in kills with 16.
Their next game will be in the CVC tournament at Marymount University on April 14 at 1 p.m.
